The 13th Finance Commission headed by Dr. Vijay Kelkar, Chairman of the Commission would visit Himachal Pradesh from 6th to 9th June, 2008, Shri Ravi Dhingra, the Chief Secretary announced. The commission would be here to hold consultations with the state government w.r.t. various issues related to the devolution of finances during 2010 to 2015.
The commissioner would also meet the political parties, representatives of PRIs and Urban Local Bodies after meeting the state’s Chief Minister. The team is also supposed to visit major developmental projects, hydro electric projects and tribal areas in the state. He directed the officers to take stock of preparations and ensure proper arrangements.
