Youth arrested in theft case

KUMARHATTI: The Nalagarh police today arrested two youth for a sensational theft case in which Rs. 6-lakh cash and jewelries valued Rs. 7-lakh were stolen from Mr. Vipin Jain’s house on January 27.

Arvind (23) and Nitin Ghai (18) both hailed from ward no 6, Nalagarh have confessed to the crime. The both were entered Mr. Jain’s house, their neighbour when the latter had gone to Naina Devi along with his whole family.

The jewelries belongs to Mr. Jain’s married daughter. The youth came under doubt after they bought a new Alto car on January 30 from the stolen money. They have put up the black screens on car’s windows thus making police suspicious of their activities. Their lavish life style after the theft case has further put them in doubt.

Moreover they were on police radar due to their efforts to speed past the car from police nakas whenever signaled for stop. They were also met with an accident recently. Getting more clues the police finally decided to verify the car details. The Chandigarh agency was approached from where the car was purchased. The agency revealed that the car was bought in the name of some other person. The original owner of car was approached, who told police that as the youth did not have any identity prove, he was approached by the youth to buy the car on his name.

Following this the youth were asked to reach Nalagarh police station for inquiry. The youth avoided the police call only to strengthen the police doubt. Finally the police took them to police station and interrogated the both. They revealed the truth.

The police recovered the stolen jewelries along with the car. A case has been registered.
