KUMARHATTI: A young married woman allegedly committed suicide at Parwanoo after her paramour refused to meet her late last evening. Rita Sharma (32) the deceased had allegedly enjoyed illicit relation with her colleague, Salim Khan. Both were employed in a same unit at Parwanoo. While Salim Khan was putting up in a rented accommodation in Sector 4, Parwanoo the woman was residing in Kalka along with her husband, Jitender Sharma and 7-yr old girl.
According to Mr. Ramesh Pathania, DSP Parwanoo the woman called up Salim to meet her at latter’s home. Salim who was busy in work refused the demand. Rita also sent a SMS from her mobile to Salim threatening that in case he failed to reach home by 6 pm he would only see her dead body, said the DSP.
Like the phone calls, Salim too ignored the warning through the SMS. Later in the evening when Salim returned back to home, he found the main door’s lock opened and Rita’s body hanging from the ceiling fan inside the room.
As per Mr. Jatinder Sharma, Rita and Salim pretended to be brother and sister, whereas they had developed an illicit relation. He said that he had even caught them red-handed and rebuked them for same. He accused Salim Khan for forcing his wife to take extreme step to kill herself.
The deceased and Salim Khan both hailed from Mandi district. The police has started the investigations in case.
