Shimla: Prof. Prem Kumar Dhumal is positively looking forward upon the proposal of establishing an olive oil extraction unit in the state by Jose Manuel Santamaria, Managing Director of M/S Sojivit S.L., Spain and R.S.Kandhari, Project Coordinator.
Talking over this Dhumal said that State would welcome this Indo-Spanish joint venture for the interiors of the state to boost up the professional cash crop cultivation amongst the local farmers.
He was glad at the proposal of developing olive oil farms in the backward and interior areas of the state as olive trees have a long life whict could survive and bear fruit upto two thousand years of age. Growing olive trees would also increase the green cover in the state. Since the project is eco friendly he said that it is best suitable for development over the wasteland.
CM added that the interests of the stake holders and people of the state would be protected as per the norms.
