In an effort to recognize children with outstanding abilities and stupendous caliber the Ministry of Women and Child Development has instituted an Award called ‘National Child Award for Exceptional Achievement’. The award would be given to children within the age group of 4-15 years for feat in various fields like academics, arts, culture and sports.
As per the government spokesman, only one child would be selected from each State/UT and accredited with silver medals. A gold medal would be awarded to one child on All India basis. Cash prizes of Rs. 20,000 and Rs. 10,000 each, with citations would be awarded respectively.
The last date for sending the recommendations to the Ministry of Women and Child Development is finalized as 31st July, 2008.
