KUMARHATTI: The police have arrested two youth with fake currency notes at Barotiwala market last night. Shambhu and Raju Kumar alias Ranjeet Kumar both from Bihar were arrested red-handed while trying to do the shopping with fake notes.
The both were in fact followed by a police team in market after an anonymous caller informed the police about matter. As soon as they offered Rs. 1000 fake note to a shopkeeper the police team led by Mr. Kanwar Rupinder Singh, SHO, Barotiwala police station nabbed them.
Later during search the 5 and 3 duplicate notes of Rs. 1000 denomination each were recovered by police from Shambhu and Raju Kumar respectively. The both were produced before Sub Judge Court at Kasauli today where they were put on police remand till March 15.
A case under section 489 B, 489 C and 34 of IPC has been registered. Meanwhile the police was tightlipped about the case.
