State to get Bhanupali-Bilaspur broad guage Railway line

Union Railway Ministry is likely to clear the multi million Bhanupali-Bilaspur broad gauge rail project.

The project is to be implemented under 2008-2009 railways budget . State share would be Rs. 37 crore for construction. The 63 kilometer rail track is expected to cost Rs 1047 crore.

The Baddi-Chandigarh rail line is also likely to be approved.

The railway ministry is also planning to have a Shatabdi train service between Pathankot and Delhi soon.

Railway Ministry declined the upgradation of the Pathankot-Joginder Nagar line to broad gauge line citing financially unviable.
