Shimla: Himachal Pradesh is to achieve a good healthy crop during current rabi season as it will record 7 lakh MT foodgrains production and 9.15 lakh tonnes foodgrains, 5 lakh tonnes vegetables and 10,000 tonnes oilseed production target has been fixed for next kharif season, as told by J.C. Rana, Director, Agriculture, in the National Conference on Agriculture at New Delhi.
He further said that Rs. 16.29 crore has been sanctioned by Centre to the state under Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojna. Moreover, all the farmers will be provided soil health cards during 11th plan with a target of providing health cards to one lakh farmers during current financial year out of which 60,000 farmers will be covered under the scheme in the State till December 2007. Presently, five lakh farmers have been provided with soil health cards, added Rana.
