Govt. to encourage farming sector – Dhawala

Himachal Minister for Food and civil supply, DhawalaJawalamukhi: The State Government would come up with a suitable policy to encourage self-employment and employment avenues in farming sector. This was revealed by Mr.Ramesh Dhawala, Minister for Food and civil supply while addressing the Public meeting at Dehrian near Jawalamukhi on Thursday. He said that the BJP Government was concerned about the prevailing unemployment problem amongst the educated youth and State Government would endeavour to explore the possibilities of generating employment and self employment avenues in the farming sector.He said that diversified agricultural activities including cultivation of off-season vegetables, cash crops and high yielding varieties of various farm produce could be one of the solutions to solve the unemployment problem in rural areas up to some extent. He said that modern horticulture promotion activities could add to the income generation of horticulturists while herbiculture and floriculture sectors would also be diversified and promoted in a big way so that ample employment avenues were generated for the unemployed people. He appealed to the unemployed youth to take benefit of various Government schemes with technical know-how about farming sector to help them lead an economically stable life.

He made it clear that the subsidy on commodities started by previous congress government from the current financial year for the 14 lakh ration card holders of the state will continue. Quality checking of essential commodities would be streamlined to ensure that the people got good food items at ration depots. Mandal president Dev raj Rana, BJP leader Kamal Hamirpuri, Raj Kumar was also present on the occasion.
