Shimla: After holding the first ever session of a new assembly term outside the state capital, the Himachal Pradesh assembly was adjourned sine die on Saturday at Dharamshala.
Only two sittings of the winter session were held, which saw the election of Tulsi Ram as the new speaker and Khimmi Ram as the new deputy speaker.
On Friday, members of the newly elected house took oath to the 11 assembly of the HP legislature.
A new government headed by chief minister Prem Kumar Dhumal took over the reigns of power after the old congress government headed by Virbhadra Singh suffered defeat at the December elections.
The new house of 68 members has 41 from BJP, 23 from congress, one from BSP and three are independents.
It was the earlier congress government of Virbhadra Singh that had taken the decision of setting up a Vidhan Sabha Bhavan at Tapovan in Dharamshala where winter sessions were held in the preceding two years.
