Shimla: Congress spokesman informed that Sonia Gandhi’s tentative electioneering schedule for the state had been fixed for 11th and 15th December.
Meanwhile state congress president Viplove Thakur has appointed rally incharge for the Sonia Gandhi’s addresses at Rehan in Kangra, Mandi, Una and Shimla. Senior leader Sat Mahajan is to oversee the Rehan rally, Kaul Singh at Mandi, Kuldeep Kumar at Una and Harsh Mahajan at Shimla rally said Viplove Thakur.
The party has also appointed campaign managers for various districts. Ranjit Singh Verma has been made campaign incharge for Hamirpur, Harsh Mahajan for Shimla and Solan, Ajay Bhadur for Sirmaur, OP Rattan for Una, Pandit Sukh Ram for Mandi, Kunjana Singh for Bilaspur, Sat Mahajan for Chamba and Kangra and Phunchuk Rai for Kullu.
Meanwhile, RK Dhawan, the congress general secretary and party incharge from Himachal is staying put in a VIP suite at the state guest house Hotel Peterhof.
While BJP campaign incharge Satpal Jain is leading from the front congressmen were heard complaining that Dhawan has yet to make his presence felt in the election process.
“The impression going out is that the party has already conceded defeat and there is no central leader countering the BJP propaganda,†said a concerned congressman. “Last time the media briefings were held by Anand Sharma, this time there is no central leader here,†he said, not wanting to be quoted.
