KUMARHATTI: He is a man on mission. After creating storm in state politics by waging an anti corruption drive against his own party, Major Vijai Singh Mankotia is now having all reasons to oust Congress from power. At the same time he is equally critical of BJP whom he terms a party of ideas causing rift in country’s people.
Addressing a press conference at a hotel near here today, Mr. Mankotia described both Congress and BJP the two sides of a same coin. These parties have nothing to do with state public welfare. The leaders of these two parties have dual faces. There was a hobnobbing going on between Mr. Virbhadra Singh, Mr. Prem Kumar Dhumal and Mr. Shanta Kumar, he alleged.
He said that lot of hullabaloo was made over the allegations in allotting the khairwood to M/s Sagar Katha Udyog during BJP regime. At that time, Mr. Virbhadra Singh along with others was charged under various sections of the IPC and the Prevention of Corruption Act. However the matter was settled later during Congress rule and CM was discharged from case due to an alleged nexus of Mr. Virbhadra Singh with Mr. Dhumal.
The former MLA said that the both Congress and BJP have done nothing serious to solve unemployment in state. Over 70,000 posts were lying vacant in state. Ironically the state government has signed MoU with central government to reduce the expenses.
The 1/4th of state population or 15-lakh youth of state were unemployed. But yet there was no plan to give them the employment. The state government tall claim over giving 70 percent jobs to Himachali in industrial units and hydro projects were baseless. In reality, no attention was being paid by entrepreneurs to give preference to Himachali in jobs.
On CD issue he said that the CM and his wife have favoured the big industrialists and proof of this was provided in a CD. If CM has doubt over authenticity of CD then why he was not filing an affidavit in court, he questioned.
Mankotia said, due to his Army background he can not compromise with values. He said due to this basic reason he was forced to wage a war against corruption in Congress and joined hand with BSP. Earlier, Mr. Mankotia has also addressed a public rally at Dharampur 4-km from here.
