Two nominations from Hamirpur seat in Himachal

People welcome announcement regarding Dhumal

Two persons filed their nomination papers to contest Hamirpur sadar vidhan sabha seat of the district. Those who filed their nomination papers were Anita Verma of Congress and Sqdn. Leader, (retd), Brij Lal Dhiman as an independent.

With this only three persons have so for filed their papers in the district. There are five assembly seats in the district.

Meanwhile, people in various parts of the state have welcomed the decision of the BJP to project Prof. Prem Kumar Dhumal as the chief ministerial candidate. The BJP took a decision to this effect today at a meeting of its central parliamentary party in New Delhi.

Prof. Dhumal is the BJP MP from Hamirpur and had won this seat in a bye election held in June this year. He was earlier, party MLA from Bamsan assembly seat of the Hamirpur district.

Dhumal will reach Hamirpur tomorrow from New Delhi and will be accorded a rousing reception on his reaching Hamirpur town on way to his native village of Samirpur.

BJP Spokesman, Rajendra Rana during a press conference here today welcomed the decision of party regarding Prof. Dhumal. He expressed optimism that the party would come to power under the dynamic leadership of Prof. Dhumal. He said that the BJP had done a lot for the people of the state irrespective of their areas during the last regime of BJP (1998-2003). This issue will be taken up by the party in the coming elections, he added.
