Palampur: Dr.Tej Partap, Vice-Chancellor, CSK Himachal Pradesh Agricultural University disclosed that he will discuss with the representatives of teaching, non teaching and students the proposal to extend support to various social welfare activities in addition to given mandate. On behalf of the University community, the Vice-Chancellor distributed fruits to the patients of local civil hospital on the eve of Diwali and also to commemorate the foundation day month of the University. He also presented oxygen bank regulator, financial assistance to blood bank and medicine bank of the hospital.
Dr.Partap said that many employees of the University have approached him to start some charity on behalf of the University so that they may voluntarily contribute for the welfare of the society. He said that after discussing this proposal with representatives of various employees’ unions, he would like this noble venture to be extended to the University’s research stations and farm science centres all over the state.
The Vice-Chancellor individually met over a hundred patients and wished them speedy recovery. He also appreciated the efforts of SMO and Incharge Dr. D. S. Chandel for getting a magnificent hospital building constructed. Dr. Chandel informed that new hospital building will be ready within a month’s time and he intends to strengthen the emergency services.
