One person was killed on the spot and three others were injured in a head on collision between a car and a tipper on Pathankot- Mandi Highway at Raja Ka Baag, last night.
An official spokesman told this reporter that an ill fated car ( PB 02 – AA 5265 ) was on its way from Kandwal to Jassore when a tipper ( HP -68- 1483) coming from the opposite direction smashed it badly, leaving Pratik Sharma dead on the spot and three other occupants of the car badly injured in the accident.
He said that after smashing the car the tipper dashed against a tree. The driver of the tipper was absconding, police said. Police have registered a case under section 304 A and 279 IPC. The injured were rushed to Nurpur Sub Divisional Hospital for treatment.
