Nandita Gupta, the Hamirpur District Magistrate has appealed to the leaders of all political parties to implement the Model code of conduct issued for Election in latter and spirit and ensure that no one violates its provisions. She said that those violating the code would invite legal actions under the law of land.
Addressing a meeting of leaders of Congress, BJP and left parties here today, she said that no political party should indulge in mud throwing during the election meetings so as to maintain communal harmony in the district. Senior district officers were also present in the meeting.
She said that all political parties had to give in writing to the administration regarding holding of the public meetings well in advance so as to maintain law and order during the meetings and rallies.
Similar meeting was also held in Dhramshala which was chaired by Kangra District Magistrate, Ashwani Kappor.
