KUMARHATTI: The chaos ruled the 4-km stretch of national highway between Kumarhatti and Dharampur this evening when numbers of vehicles got struck in traffic jam. The vehicles were lined up on both side of road thus forcing the traffic to move at snail pace.
The digging of earth on the side of highway to lay water pipes of Giri water lifting scheme and cable of private telecom company have affected the traffic flow adversely. The situation turned from bad to worse in late evening when weekend rush of tourists further added to traffic snarls.
The tourists and other motorists were left high and dry as it took over half an hour to cross the stretch, supposed to be covered in few minutes.
