Chandigarh student dies as car rolls down into deep gorge

SOLAN: The outing to hills turned out to be fatal for a group of students from Chandigarh when their Maruti Zen car rolled down into a deep gorge near Chakki Ka Mour in this district today, killing one of them and injuring five. The accident took place on a kutcha road leading to Bhojnagar to which students turned car from Kalka-Shimla national highway at Chakki Ka Mour.  

The injured including 3 girls were referred to the Government Medical College and Hospital, Sector 32, Chandigarh. The students of Kailash Behl DAV Senior Secondary School, Sector 7-B were on joy ride to hill as a sports tournament was going on in their school. 

Gaurav a plus one student who hailed from Sector 15, Panchkula was declared brought dead at ESI, Hospital Parwanoo. He was an only son of his parents. Navpreet and Mehak the students of plus two and plus one respectively have sustained fractures. While Palkeet, Navpreet and Anni received minor injuries.

The seemed to be planned an outing near Kaushalya stream. Tanveer who was driving his mother car could not control it while negotiating a narrow stretch of road. While rolling down, the car had hit a boulder.
