Shimla, September 29
The Vice-Chancellor of the Himachal Pradesh University, Dr. Anil Wilson shared his concern with the University Executive Council at its meeting today about the need to decongested the campus. “Additional space had to be created for the growing needs of the present departments as well as to prepare for more disciplines of study that were bound to come up in the near future,†said Wilson.
He said that the Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh had appreciated this need and had directed the district authorities to assist the University in identifying a suitable piece of land nearby.
myHimachal News bureau learnt from district authorities that a piece of land near Ghannati, on the Shimla Bilaspur highway (15 Km from Shimla) had been identified for the purpose of setting up another campus. The identified land had earlier been marked for setting up a private university but the promoters backed out.

He also stated long pending promotions had also been done through regular procedure and the process of filling up vacant teaching and non-teaching positions was also underway.
