Governor stressed to preserve rich culture of Himachal

V.S. Kokje, Governor said that the State had rich culture which needed to be preserved at all costs and added that Himachal Pradesh was a land of fairs and festivals and it was our duty that we should uphold such festivities in the State which had its ancient importance and glory. He said that the festivals and fairs were symbol of our rich cultural heritage and it also inculcate a spirit of right thinking in human beings.

Kokje was addressing the people on the occasion of Janmashtami festival at Krishna Mandir at Solan last evening. He said that India was a symbol of unity in diversity and various religious festivals were organized throughout the county every year by different community. He said that the religion also imbibed the spirit of love and unity into the human being which instill a feeling of harmony, love and patriotism among the people in the society.

Kokje said that Lord Krishna was a source of inspiration for human beings and his preachings in holy book Geeta would always guide the mankind for generation to generation. He said that religion always inspire the human being to follow right path.

Governor also paid his obeisance in Krishna Mandir on the occasion of Krishna Janmashtami at Solan. Earlier, Rajiv Kohali, Organizer of the Temple welcomed the Chief Guest.
