Shimla: According to preliminary reports more than 50 people are feared dead in a cloudburst in Shimla district.
Heavy rains are damaging property worth crores and almost 36 people till date are reported dead. State machinery has totally failed and government in unable to reach at far flung places. More details coming soon….
The cloud burst affected Ghanvi village in Rampur Sub Division of Shimla district. Rescue teams recovered six bodies on Wednseday and at least 46 people remained missing. Most of the victims were employees and workers of the Ghanvi hydro-electric power project on the Sutlej river.
Rampur SDM D. K. Rattan, is supervising the rescue work.
Twenty six people have been identified among missing and efforts are on to identify the others.
