BADDI: Mr. Ravi Dhingra the Chief Secretary has exhorted the industries to meet the pollution control standards. He said there was an urgent need to save the environment. It has now become urgent to take desired measures in reducing further losses to environment, he stressed. He instructed the Pollution and Control Department to submit the progress report in this regard within one month.
Mr. Dhingra has stated this while presiding over a state level executive committee meeting of Baddi, Barotiwala Nalagarh Development Authority (BBNDA) at Baddi on Thursday. It may be mentioned here that on August 16, the state government has constituted a committee for addressing various issues related to Pollution in BBN area.
Meanwhile the various decisions were taken during the meeting. The sanctions were given to set up the transport nagar, sewerage treatment plant and municipal corporation solid waste management plant at Baddi. The permission was also given to surface and storm water drainage system.
Rs. 1.20 lakh was provided to BBNDA for the publicity of its decision to give NOC power to panchayats for new construction. The permission in principle was also given to the industrialists to set up residential complexes on government land.
Among others, Ms. Parminder Mathur, Additional Chief Secretary, Industries, Mr. V.C. Pharka, Principal Secretary, General Administration and Personnel, Mr. Shrikant Baldi, Secretary, Power and Dr. Amandeep Garg, CEO, BBNDA were presented in meeting. Later the Chief Secretary also met a joint delegation of BBN Industries Association and CII HP Council.
