NAHAN :At a joint press conference organized at a Hotel near Circuit House here today state President of BJP Mahila Morcha, Roopa Sharma alleged that Bali episode had brought shame for the women of Himachal Pradesh. This episode has put question mark on the safety and respect enjoyed by the Himachali women.
She said that women of the state have widely condemned the episode and asked that Congress must reply this question as when its minister behaves with women in this manner what would be the fate of women under the Congress rule in the state as generally common people follow the behaviour exhibited by the Ministers.
She said that Mahila Morcha was ensuing state wide awareness campaign under which anti poor policies of the Congress would be taken to the grass root level. She announced that BJP would ensure that atleast five women were included in each booth committee. She also said that signature campaign to save Ram Setu would be launched in the state and signature would be submitted to the President of India.
Former Minister Kumari Shyama Sharma, All India secretary of Morcha Anita Singh, all India Member of Mahila Morcha Vimla Kashyap and state general secretary Ritu Sethi also addressed the conference and particularly criticized the women empowerment policies of the Union government by saying that UPA had never been serious for the empowerment and welfare of the women they always spoke lies and did drama on this issue, they alleged.
After this conference a meeting of district Mahila Morcha was addressed by the state President and other national women leaders who had mainly come from Utrakhand.
