Retired CS is now State Information Commissioner

permarjuly2.jpgSurjit Singh Parmar who retired on 30th June, 2007 as Chief Secretary to Government of Himachal Pradesh was sworn in as H.P. State Information Commissioner in the Secretariat Conference Hall here today. He took oath of office and secrecy. Justice Bhawani Singh, Lokayukta Himachal Pradesh presided over the function and Ravi Dhingra, Chief Secretary was also present on the occasion.

Parmar belongs to 1971 IAS batch and prior to his elevation to the highest administrative post, he also rendered his services to the State in various key and plum positions including Additional Chief Secretary Finance, Planning, Economics and Statistics, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister, Vice-Chancellor of H.P. University, Commissioner-cum-Secretary to a number of departments, Divisional Commissioner, besides, Managing Director, H.P. Financial Corporation and State Infrastructure Development Board.
