HIMACHAL BUS BOOKING GOES ONLINE

hrtcjune15.jpgSHIMLA: Himachal Pradesh Road Transport Corporation has become the second Corporation after Karnataka State Transport Corporation to make its bus booking on line. HP CM Virbhadra Singh, inaugurated it.

Singh said that efforts were afoot to computerize all the government department functioning with a view to bring about efficiency, transparency and responsiveness.

G.S. Bali, Transport and Tourism Minister, said that the on line booking would be initially available for Volvo buses to begin with and was likely to be extended to other services in a phased manner. He said that the HRTC had increased its revenue during last four years to Rs. 76 crore and minimized the accident rate in the state.

T.C.Janartha, Managing Director, HRTC said that the bus booking facilities would be available on website http://hrtc.gov.in/hrtc/default.aspx.

He added that the computerized helpline facilities had been made available at Shimla on telephone number 12666 within the state while Shimla code 0177 was required to be prefixed from outside the state to get information about the bus routes where HRTC buses ply.

    I HAVE TREVELLED SEVERAL TIMES TO HIMACHAL PRADESH. BUS TICKETS BOOKING 0N LINE IS VERY CONVINIENT AND FULLY TENSION FREE, BEYOND THIS THIS IS VERY ECONOMICAL AS WELL AS SAVING OF TIME

    Of late reserving tickt on line has become very difficult even impossible.Lot of time & money on internet is wasted wiyhout any sucees as after logging & filling some details server doesnot respond & whole exersice is to be repeated several times w/o any result.

    Agreed with Mr yogesh,there are lot of to be done on this wedsite.one dedicated staff should be deputed for upgradition and cn answer of public comments otherwise inauguration by the CM does not have any meaning.Secondly the booking counter at HP Bhawan needs to be facelift and should have some modern touch to attaract tourists.
