CHANDIGARH BOY DROWNED IN GIRI RIVER

As per information reached here this evening a young man from Chandigarh drowned in the Giri river at the Giri Pul about 120 K.M. from here last evening, however his two other friends safely came out of the river.

As per Rajgarh Police, three tourist boys had come from Chandigarh yesterday in the area. To beat the unbearable heat they entered Giri River at Giri Pul for a bath. Accidentally Pankaj [24] slipped in the river and drowned in the deep water at a place popularly known as ‘danger whirlpool’.

His friends took him to Solan Hospital but by then he was no more. After conducting post mortem his body was handed over to his family members came from Chandigarh reportedly.
