A large number of office bearers and members of three women organizations of Bohal Talia Panchyat under the leadership of Panchyat President Ms Sulekha and B.D.C. member of the area Ms Suman met S.D.M. Rajgarh, Mr. Vivek Chandel today and complained that some miscreants under the patronage of present Vice President and former President of the Panchyat were terrorizing and threatening residents of the Panchyat. They said that Goondaism (creating terror & fear) has reached to such a level that it has become impossible to move freely in the area due to terror of these people.
Women members consisting Ms Kiran, President, Mahila Mandal Dhar Pajera, Krishna, President, Mahila Mandal Talia, Satya Devi, President, Mahila Mandal Haloni Pul and President, office bearers and members of these women organizations told media persons that they had submitted a memorandum to the SDM requesting him to curb on going Goondaism in the Panchayat area. In their memorandum they have expressed apprehension of another bloodshed in the Panchayat.
Women leaders said that on May 2nd last this group armed with lathies, Iron rods and Pipes attacked three residents of the Panchyat suddenly, without any provocation when they were coming out of the Panchyat Ghar after announcement of postponement of the General House meeting for the want of quorum. These three critically injured person Ram Prakash, Raj Kumar and Arjun were under treatment in the IGMC Shimla. Since then this group, which belongs to a higher cast was allegedly terrorizing and threatening the people of lower cast in the Panchyat area. Delegation said that due to fear and tension in the area Dalits are again afraid of another attack and they were not able to move freely in the area.
Women organizations have faxed a copy of this representation to S.P. Police Nahan also and had raised several questions on the role of police in this whole episode. They have requested to put a immediate check on the on going goondaism in the area.
It may be recalled that on My 2nd a large number of residents of the Panchyat assembled in the Panchyat Ghar were taken to surprise when a group suddenly attacked some persons with a pre planned strategy. The attackers fled from the scene after seriously injuring three persons of one political group. Both group reached in the Rajgarh police station to lodge FIR’s and the trouble started again. It was scene of free for all in front of Police station, watched by many people including police. Both group freely hit each other with lathies and stones leaving three four more persons injured.
It was reported earlier also in these columns that since then members of these groups were searching for the members of rival group for settling their scores and there was tension in the area. Present alleged goondaism was the out fall of this incident.
