According to a Press release via Himachal govt. I&PR dept., i view of Municipal Corporation, Shimla Elections, State Government has declared a public holiday on the day of polling i.e. 23rd May, 2007 within the area of Municipal Corporation, Shimla to enable all the employees working in Government Offices, Boards, Corporations, Educational Institutions and Industrial Establishments in Himachal Pradesh situated within the areas of Municipal Corporation, Shimla to exercise their right of franchise.
This will also be a paid holiday to the daily waged employees and also within the meaning of Section 25 of the Negotiable Instruments Act, 1881.
