Greetings from the Kullu valley.
Kullu Project update:
We have been able to fund raise for the 9 Kids belonging to Mrs. Sudershana’s orphanage in Kullu. Now they are going to the best school in the valley and everything including their fees , dress , stationary has been provided for. A group from the US who were on a tour with my company also donated a lot of gifts to the Kids of the Manali orphanage and the Kailash Bodhi school.
A group of 5 volunteers would spend one month in the valley working with the project on issues of first aid, hygiene , academics and environment with the Jibhi orphanage in May. The project has also been registered as a charity in London and a volunteer team of over 5 people would work together in fundrasing, setting up a website , organizing volunteer placements and events.
At the moment we are fund raising for the construction of the Manali orphanage as they have been promised free land by the Government if we could fundrasie for the construction cost.
THE FIRST PERMANENT DE- ADDICTION CENTER IN KULLU VALLEY
We are also looking to start a 12 month de-addiction center in the valley along with a Delhi based NGO called Savera ( who run with the curriculum of “Alcohol anonymous”) . The building has already been finalized and hopefully the center would be starting by Mid April. This is a dream come true coz Drugs especially smack, heroine and Marijuana have captured more than 50% of the youth in valleys like Kullu and Shimla. I don’t know why the government has a blind eye towards this rising menace. This was the reason why i am so against marijuana which acts as a appetizer.
