HIMACHAL MP DEMANDS RAILWAY EXPANSION IN THE STATE

Member of Parliament Himachal Mrs. Pratibha Singh has demanded the expansion of railways network in the state and told that state has not received any significant increase in railways infrastructure during last 60 years. She said that present railways lines in the state belongs to British Era.

It is pertinent to mention that feeling heart with the proposals of recent railway budget in which interest of Himachal Pradesh has been completely ignored.

Dr. Bhugol Chandel President My Himachal, a group of worldwide Himachalis and friends of Himachal, had talked to Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh Mr. Virbhadra Singh on telephone recently. He had requested CM to raise this issue with full force with the Prime Minister & Union Railway Minister.

Dr. Chandel had further urged that ignoring Himachal in the railway budget would block the fruit of development to reach the people of Himachal. He said that Himachal is a fast developing state which has made remarkable growth & progress on the front including industrialization. The railway links to the different parts of HP would prove a boon in the development process of the state & will grow with double speed by leaving behind several other states of the nation.

Speaking in the parliament on railways budget Member Parliament, Mrs. Pratibha Singh demanded immediate start of work on 33 Km. long 328,14 crore rupees estimated cost Chandigarh – Baddi railways line and reminded that Prime Minister Doctor Manmohan Singh had announced the start of work on this line on completions of economic survey. She told that Nalagarh, Baddi, Barotiwala area has registered massive industrializations due to incentives to industries under the industrial package sanctioned by the centre. She told that the area has witnessed heavy traffic rush which is resulting the frequent traffic blockade and the railway line will ensure smooth flow of goods from this area and added that it will also help industries in inland container depot. She told that State Govt. is setting up additional inland container depot under public private partnership.

Mrs. Pratibha Singh, requested the Centre to immediately release 270 crore rupees for construction of 11 kilometre long railway line between Chruru Takrala to Amb Indora on Nangal Talwara broad-gauge railway line and told that 33 Km. railway line has been constructed on first phase with total cost of 105.10 crore. She told that land will be acquired in 13 village for construction of railway line out of which land in 9 village has been acquired. She told that State Govt. will provide Govt. land free of cost to the railways for construction of railways line in the state. While pleading for sanctioning of 703 crore rupees estimated Bilaspur Bhanupalli railways line Mrs. Pratibha Singh member parliament demanded that this project should be declared as project of national importance . She said that it will facilitate the movement of cash crops like apples besides benefiting electricity and cement projects.

    i m of the opinion that a super fast train should run between mumbai and una.this will be beneficial to lakhs of himachalis who
    stay in mumbai ,surat,baroda,kota,bharatpur,delhi, saharanpur,
    ambala,chandigarh and so on.this will also give boost to tourism
    as nainadevi,bhakra nangal,jwalaji,kangra etc will be connected
    with nearer stations.
    will our mps will do some thing about it? or we peaceful himachalis
    have to go for agitation?
