Seven persons were killed and 14 other injured when a private bus met with an accident near Bhalai Mata temple in Chamba District, about 40 kilometers from Chamba today. The ill-fated bus was on its way to Chamba from Barangal when it met with an accident. The injured persons were referred to Zonal Hospital, Chamba and the seriously injured to Pathankot for treatment.
The District Administration has distributed Rs. 10,000 as ex-gratia amount to next of kin of diseased and Rs. 5000 each to the injured.
Transport minister, Mr. Bali said that an amount of Rs. 1.00 lakh would be given to the next of kin of deceased under Passenger ex-gratia Scheme.
