Rohru, Shimla: HP Chief Minister said that the State had initiated effective steps to check female foeticide and the endeavours were visible since the male-female sex ratio was coming at par. He said that sex determination had been banned in the State and no clinic permitted to conduct such tests. He said that any person giving authentic information about the female foeticide was being rewarded with a cash prizes of Rs. 10,000 and the errant were being dealt with as per the law of the land. He said that social awareness was also being created amongst the people about the drastic fall-outs occurring due to the female foeticide. He said that balanced sex ratio was very essential for the balanced society. He said that people needed to cooperate with the State Government to eradicate such social vices from the State.
