Project Dharamshala

Project Dharamsala is a University of Denver International Service Learning program that combines service work with academic study in Northern India during Winter Interterm. The program is based in Dharamsala (where students spend about three weeks volunteering), but the group also tours Delhi, Agra, and other points of interest in Northern India.

Students interact with Tibetan and Indian people and are engaged by speakers from organizations based in Dharamsala. The goal of the program is for students to study the history and culture of India and of Tibet in Exile, with special insights gained through service work in the community.

Well, I am working as a Sr. Consultant in a Business Research firm in Gurgaon, Haryana and off the job I am working on a Deforestation Advertising for Himachal Pradesh. I was born in Dharamshala and studied up to my graduation there only and left for Delhi to complete my Masters program in Business Administration.

I want that the beauty and peace remains constant there in Himachal so I am really working on some other projects for Himachal only.

One of my consideration is to stop the internal brain drain and Iw ant all the alumnis beloging to Himachal to come back and develop their own state.

Interacting with people and studying exiles is not going to help to develop himachal. required is a study of root cause analysis as to how make himachal economy boom. THis requires a minute study on the industries and the potential people serving those industries. A method which includes blockage of talent to other states and grooming talen inside the home state.

i think this is a very helpful project and also helps in increasing the tourism in dharmshala.but the main thing is people are not aware about it.general awareness is very important in such type of projects among the local people and others.

secondly if any kind of help is required i am always ready for any kind of contribution of mine.i have done B.tech in Mechanical engg.
