Mumbai, May 9 (IANS) Did you miss hearing “Je baat” and “Oji” on your TV, then here is good news for you, “Lapataganj” will be back on TV soon with Indumati and Mukundi.
“Lapataganj”, is the story of the people residing in an imaginary town, Lapataganj, who lead a happy life against all odds. The show was famous among audiences for bringing to them several colourful flavours of rural India.
Anooj Kapoor, EVP & business head, SAB TV, said: “Based on requests that we received through multiple platforms like Facebook and fan mails, we have decided to bring back the second season.”
He added: “I am confident that the new season will surpass our expectations and entertain audiences across Hindi speaking markets.”
Sucheta Khanna, who was seen in “Anjaana Anjaani” and “Yamla Pagla Deewana”, will continue her role as Indumati Lal Gupta, and veteran actor Rohitashv Gaur will reprise the role of Mukundi Lal Gupta (Indumati’s husband) in Season 2, said a statement.
Sucheta said: “I am very happy to be a part of ‘Lapataganj Season 2’. My character as Indumati was well appreciated by audiences and I promise to continue entertaining them with my antics.”
The new season of the show will be aired soon on SAB TV.
