APG Shimla University making a mark

Shimla: The APG Shimla University was recently conferred with the “The Best University in the Hills”- Awarded by The Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry of India (Assocham). The award presented by Dr. M.M.Pallam Raju, Hon’ble Minister of HRD, Government of India, was received by Ms. Priyanka Goyal, Executive Director of the University.

The award was for the Best Private Upcoming University in the hilly areas.

Besides this, APG University, which is nurturing young minds of Himachal Pradesh and other parts of the country, has received a few other awards since its establishment in Shimla, viz-a-viz. the Green Building Initiative Award from South Asia Forum for Energy Efficiency, and the award for the best Emerging International University in Northern India at the All India Achievers Association meet held in Chennai.

To provide its students with additional activities on campus, APG Shimla University recently signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Széchenyi István University, Gy?r (Hungary), in order to collaborate in academic and cultural activates. Széchenyi István University is well reputed for electrical and mechanical engineering courses and has a partnership with German Automaker Audi.

For more exposure than routine campus based education, APG Shimla University is running a program offered by UBIC in collaboration with EDEXCEL, UK’s biggest awarding body, which gives students an opportunity to finish their degree in over 200 foreign University, or gives a chance to students to come to APG for a final top-up of their degree. Such qualification, according to the University, is recognized in 92 countries worldwide.

APG Shimla University has a scholarship and concession policy in place, which offers students 15 percent to 100 percent concession on charitable and academic bases varying on the student’s need.

APG Shimla University located on Shoghi-Mehli by-pass Road is spread over 35 acres and is offering degree courses in BBA, MBA, B.Tech, BSC Fashion and Design and BSC Hotel Management. Course in Journalism and Mass Communication is slated to begin soon.
