Himachal to fill 94 TGT posts on regular basis

Shimla: In a Cabinet meeting presided by Prof. Prem Kumar Dhumal it was decided to fill up 94 Trained Graduate Teacher (TGT) posts, 47 O.T. posts and 47 posts of Drawing Master on regular basis besides 47 posts of part time Water Carrier in Elementary Education Department for 47 newly upgraded Middle Schools so as to make these functional.
It was also decided to open Nursing College in Indira Gandhi Medical College & Hospital (IGMC), Shimla, so as to impart training in M.Sc. (Nursing), B.Sc. (Nursing) and Post Basic B.Sc. (Nursing). Also, approved to upgrade the post of Assistant Professor, Community Medicine to that of Associate Professor, Community Medicine in I.G.M.C.
Setting up of School Management Committees under Free and Compulsory Education Act-2009 was also decided.
It also extened monetary benefit to the BAR Awardees of Distinguished Services Awards at par with the BAR Awardees of Gallantry Awards of the Armed Forces for those who have got similar Distinguished Services Award twice. This carries cash award as well as annual annuity.
Cabinet also decided to purchase 10 new Light Motor Vehicles for Police Stations and Sub-Divisional Police Offices and 6 Medium Motor Vehicles for Quick Response Teams (QRTs). 20 Motorcycles and one Fire Tender for Police/ Fire Departments under scheme of modernization of State Police Forces so as to ensure smooth functioning of Police Department in the state.
The Abhishi Educational Society, Ner Chawk, District Mandi is given approval to establish technical colleges under affiliation to H.P. technical University instead of setting up of University as requested by it.
