Shimla: Yes, that’s true now the Raid de Himalaya will not conclude at Leh but Srinagar on 12th, October, 2009. This was revealed by one of the Raid official, Vijay Parmar.
On 12th October, the rally will be flagged by Jammu & Kashmir Tourism Minister, Nawang Rigzin Jora, and on 13th Oct. J&K Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah, will be the chief guest of the prize distribution ceremony.
This year as extra safety measure Raid team is trying its hands on GPRS enabled tracker for each car in the 4W Xtreme category for Leg-1. In the event of a crash this device helps to quickly locate a car and rush help to the crew.
The tracker is also an exciting thing for the Raid fans who could not go and see the thrill personally, you can visit the Geoterrestrial tracking page online and watch the position and move of your choice car.
Links to the Geoterrestrial tracking page will be exclusively available on www.raid-de-himalaya.com and also on My Himachal Blog (http://himachal.us/).
The week long rally will be flagged off from Peterhoff, Shimla on 5th Oct. and will finish on 12th at Srinagar.
