8 more Himachal Health Institutes declared as FRUs

Shimla: Himachal Pradesh has declared total 51 health institutions as First Referral Units out of which 36 FRUs were declared in the year 2008, a govt. spokesperson.

Early this year Government had declared seven health institutions as FRUs and today it declare eight other health institutes as FRUs which include Zonal Hospital, Dharamsala, District Kangra, Civil Hospital, Dehra, District Kangra, District Hospital, Kullu, District Kullu, CHC, Manali, District Kullu, Zonal Hospital, Mandi, District Mandi, Zonal Hospital, Shimla, District Shimla, CHC, Kotkhai, District Shimla, District Hospital, Una, District Una.

FRUs are health institutions that provide secondary level of Health care under NRHM, which include Community Health Centres (CHCs) and Hospitals upto District level. Govt. entitles these FRUs for additional funds amounting to Rs. 40 lakh which are to be utilized for providing referral Specialist services.
