Shimla: While addressing the inaugural function of the Open Skii Championship at Manali, Prof. Prem Kumar Dhumal said that the state government would be making efforts to coordinate with the Union Government to get the Rohtang Tunnel completed at the earliest possible.
He also said that former Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee had envisaged the project and granted sanction for the construction of the same to connect the land locked Lahaul valley with motorable road the year around.
Dhumal said that tourism would get boosted with the connectivity of Lahaul besides reducing the road distance by about 70 kilometers between Manali and Keylong.
He further said that Anjali Mahadev cave would also be connected with mettled path under Mukhya Mantri Gram Path Yojna to help devotees visit the shrine.
He also highlighted the use of banned recycled plastic bags as a punishable offence and urged the cooperation of the visitors as well as local public to help government in keeping the environment clean and green.
