Is there any doubt that for any government servant, bureaucrats included, first and foremost loyalty has to be towards the nation and the chair they occupy
The truth is that whole of J&K, including POK, acceded to India and past Indian governments erred massively by not laying strong claims on territory held by Pakistan
Whenever one talks of Unions, be it student or industrial or any other body, terms like strikes, unrest, violence, unreasonable demands and mob mentality come to the fore straight away
If the government is sincere about resolving the problem then J & K must be seen as a whole and then steps taken to isolate the more problematic areas.
We may be so eager to protect the right to dissent that we lose sight of the difference between dissent and subversion
There is more hunger for love and appreciation in this world than for bread

One really wonders why the administrative services shy away from admitting the lack of expertise in select areas of government functioning, particularly when as a service they are not inclined to develop specialists for key functions from among their own cadres.
Where the importance of a political solution is not debatable, one cannot ignore the social aspects that are part of the Jammu & Kashmir problem
