Dharamsala: British paraglider Richard Samson (45) was found dead on two days ago (19.11.2013) near Thathri village, situated at 8 Kms from Dharamsala. The British pilot had gone missing a day earlier after his glider crashed into the Manadhar hills, here in the region.
Mohit Chawla, Additional Superintendent of Police, Kangra informed that the deceased had arrived in Dharamsala from Billing Valley on November 17. He stayed at Bhagsunag and was scheduled to return back the next day.
His friends filed a missing report after he went missing a day ago. Although, search and rescue operations began the same day after a rescue team from the Bir-Billing area arrived, he still could not be traced.
The police officer said that post-mortem on the body was conducted in the local hospital. The British High Commission in Delhi and the deceased’s family has been informed about the death of the British national, Chawla added.
