China willing to support global development efforts: Li

Beijing, June 30 (IANS) China is willing to make joint efforts with other countries to promote development and prosperity of the world, the country’s premier Li Keqiang said during a meet with visiting former US secretary of state Henry Kissinger.

As the two leaders met here Friday, the Chinese premier said the world was undergoing complex and profound changes.

Economic globalisation, regional integration, and the liberalisation and facilitation of trade and investment were a general trend, which was a powerful driving force to address global financial problems and achieve an economic recovery, reported Xinhua Saturday citing Li.

Kissinger, who was in Beijing for the 3rd Global Think Tank Summit, noted the significance of China’s growth for the world, adding that he would continue to play an active role in Global Think Tank Summit meetings.
