Beijing, June 29 (IANS) Over 666,000 people have been affected by heavy rains in east China, officials said Saturday.
Rain in 25 counties of Zhejiang province over the past month have forced around 5,700 residents to evacuate, Xinhua cited the flood control and drought relief office as saying.
A total of 335 houses have collapsed, and 22,200 hectares of crops were damaged in the rains, causing an economic loss of about 525 million yuan (around $85.5 million).
