New Delhi, June 29 (IANS) Japanese automobile major Honda Saturday said it will carry out preventive part replacement of the power window switch of 42,672 units of the second generation City sedan manufactured in 2007 and 2008.
“HCIL will proactively replace power window switch which may malfunction in case water or any other liquid enters the driver side window,” the company said in a statement.
“HCIL is carrying out the part update as preventive measure although no such problem has been reported from any where in India.”
According to the company, the replacement would be carried out free of cost at dealerships across India and the owners will be contacted individually in a phased manner.
The company is carrying out the part replacement as part of a global exercise by Honda Motor Company to ensure quality standards.
The company added that the third generation Honda City or Honda Jazz sold in India is not affected and does not require any part replacement.
