Delhi traffic cop attacked

New Delhi, June 15 (IANS) A head constable of Delhi Traffic Police was attacked by two people when he tried to book their car, said police Saturday.

The incident was reported from south Delhi’s Neb Sarai around 9.25 a.m. Friday.

Prem Sagar, 40, was attacked after he stopped a car, which was being driven in the wrong lane.

When Sagar asked the car’s driver Nitin, 27, for the vehicle’s papers, the latter abused the head constable and tried to mow him down, police said. Sagar’s leg was injured.

Nitin’s friend Vikas manhandled the head constable.

Sagar’s colleague called the Police Control Room (PCR) and Nitin was arrested from the spot while Vikas managed to escape.
