West Indies elect to bowl against South Africa

Cardiff, June 14 (IANS) West Indies captain Dwayne Bravo won the toss and elected to bowl against South Africa in a rain-curtailed Group B match of the Champions trophy at the Sophia Gardens here Friday.

Instead of the regular 50 overs, both sides will play 36 overs.

Squads:

West Indies: Chris Gayle, Johnson Charles, Darren Bravo, Marlon Samuels, Dwayne Smith, Dwayne Bravo (captain), Kieron Pollard, Darren Sammy, Sunil Narine, Tino Best, Ravi Rampaul.

South Africa: Hashim Amla, Colin Ingram, Faf du Plessis, AB de Villiers (captain), JP Duminy, David Miller, Ryan McLaren, Robin Peterson, Chris Morris, Dale Steyn, Lonwabo Tsotsobe.

Umpires: Simon Davis (Australia) and Rod Tucker (Australia)

TV umpire: Bruce Oxenford (Australia)

Match referee: Andy Pycroft (Zimbabwe)

Reserve umpire: Aleem Dar (Pakistan)
