Shimla: Chief minister Prem Kumar Dhumal on Wednesday released the Economic Census – 05 of the state at Dharamshala. The data compiled and brought out by the economics and statistics department contains information about economic activity pertaining to agriculture and non-agriculture sector, an official spokesman stated.
Speaking on the occasion the chief minister said compiling of the valuable data would help to fill up data gaps, especially in the unorganized sector.
The information would be of use in policy formulation, planning and other developmental requirements besides benefit research scholars with adequate reference data, said Dhumal.
The economic census has been compiled after obtaining data by visiting every household, compiling, analyzing and interpreting it,†said Pradeep Chauhan, economic advisor to the government.
