Jaipur/New Delhi, June 7 (IANS) A MiG-21 aircraft of the Indian Air Force crashed in Barmer district of Rajasthan Friday morning. The pilot ejected safely.
Defence spokesperson S.D. Goswami said the crash took place near Sodiyar village at around 9 a.m.. A court of inquiry has been ordered to investigate the accident.
Goswami said the aircraft had taken off from Uttarlai airbase on a routine training sortie.
There was no reported loss of any civilian life or damage to property.
Goswami said a rescue team was rushed to the spot of the accident and the pilot was brought to the Army Hospital at Jodhpur.
The condition of the pilot was stable, Goswami said.
