Uganda signs new national football coach

Kampala (Uganda), May 22 (IANS) Serbia-born Sredojevic Milutin has been confirmed as the new coach of Uganda’s national football team.

He signed a two-year contract Tuesday and will start his work with an away friendly game to Libya June 1, reports Xinhua.

The Federation of Uganda Football Association, the country’s football governing body, unveiled the coach at its headquarters in the capital here.

The appointment follows the sacking of Scotsman Robert ‘Bobby’ Williamson early last month.

Milutin said he was happy to be back since he started his coaching career in Africa with SC Villa, a Ugandan team.

“I am so glad to be back in Uganda, but I must start with serious work straight away,” the 43-year-old said.
