BCCI waiting for evidence in match fixing case – Anurag Thakur

Dharamsala: The BCCI will take strongest possible steps against the cricketers found engaged in business of match fixing. Giving detailed information about this the Joint Secretary of the BCCI Anuraag Thakur said, “We have already suspended the three players arrested by Delhi Police a day before we are waiting for the evidences from the police to go yet further in punishing them.” Taking to media in Dharamsala on Friday Thakur admitted that law does not permit for swear punishment in these areas. He said,”We are depending on the law of British era. We need a change in them.” He said,”we can’t commit further till we get the evidence.”

Describing the incident Thakur said that it is an unhealthy and bad news. He said that the anti corruption cell of ICC is also working in this tournament and their links work in Hotel and stadiums.

He said that IPL is the only domestic cricket tournament of the world, which pays such a Hugh amount to players. “Even ex cricketers are earning crores of rupees,”he added. Commenting on some critics,he said,” they too are getting handsome amount from it and still criticizing it. If they consider it as bad money they should not receive it,’ he added .

Commenting on the IPL in Himachal Anuraag said,” The beauty of  Dharamsala is being telecast in  190 countries for more than 7 hours every year , which otherwise could have costed 200 crore for same time .”He said that the government of Himachal should at least provide better roads and air link for this event. He said that it is only because of his own efforts that an air India flight started for the city.

Anuraag said that Sachain Tendulkar who is visiting the city for the first time is so much fascinated by its beauty that he is busy in snapping the landscapes. Anuraag said that he  will try that Mumbai Indian should play here next year too along with Rajesthan Royals,as Dravid too keen to play at Dharamsala.
